Our Mission

Every Saturday in fall as many as 100,000 Oregonians flock to Eugene and Corvallis to see the state's top college football teams play. Every Friday night in fall, though, an equal number of fans show up to watch high school football games. In many cases it's the same people who watch prep games on Friday and college games on Saturday. And, that's just football. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, it's soccer and volleyball. Runners compete on Wednesday and Saturday. And, that's just the fall. Then, of course, there's the Blazers. At oregonsports.com, our goal is to reach the fans of these sports and activities — pro, college and high school, throughout the year. To accomplish this, we're working to brand ourselves as not just a web site, or print publication, but as a multimedia company that includes a web site, online magazine and plenty of video content meant to drive Oregon's sports-minded public to participate as competitors, fans, online viewers, even sportswriters. And, we're not just a sports section, we're "Oregon's Sports Resource."


Our Market

The core audience we're aiming for is between the ages 16 to 35, a group that begins in high school and continues into parenting, home ownership, a second car. It's a very technology-oriented market, which is ready for the level of content we're delivering. We're approaching our viewers not only with the goal of informing them, but entertaining them, something that's new in the world of Oregon sports media coverage. Our method to accomplish this includes plenty of video coverage as well as a web site that's very easy to navigate and follow.
