Concordia soccer teams sweep Montana schools

The Cavaliers of Concordia University scored a doubleheader win of sorts in NAIA soccer action Sunday.

The men’s team beat the University of Great Falls, Mont., 5-0 at Delta Park, and the women’s team beat Carroll College of Helena, Mont., 2-0, in Walla Walla, Wash.

The men’s team got goals from four different players and a solid performance by goalkeeper Claudio Lazar to even its record at 1-1 overall, after having lost its season opener to Concordia-Irvine.

The third-ranked women’s team, which reached the national semifinals the past two seasons, improved to 2-0, having beaten UC-Irvine 5-0 in its opener.
