It’s not often that a state title race features a pair of defending state champions, but that’s how Class 4A volleyball will open the season.

Crook County won its fourth-straight Class 5A title last season, then dropped to Class 4A as part of the reclassification plan.

Sisters won its second Class 4A title in three years in November. The Outlaws have played in the past three finals.

In Class 6A, Central Catholic figures to be a strong contender to repeat as champion with Jesuit, last season’s runner-up, again posing the most significant challenge.
