SPORTSLAND 86 delves into the issues of the day, including prop bets

It's the week before the Superbowl, and the Sportsland, Oregon has the preview episode that covers all the bases, from predictions to prop bets.

The cast starts off discussing the Timbers' new addition, Kris Boyd, the all-time leading goal scorer in the Scottish Premier League. What's his move to the Timbers mean for soccer in the Northwest?

From one local professional team they move on to the other, breaking down the Blazers' inconsistencies over the past week and assessing how bad Nick Batum's knee injury may turn out to be after another road loss.

Then, after some basketball Civil War talk and Signing Day thoughts, it's finally time for Superbowl predictions.  The guys give their thoughts on who the winners and losers will be, then break down their favorite prop bets, including the length of the National Anthem and what color Gatorade will be dumped on the winning coach.

In the first part of this week's episode, it's all Rose Bowl all the time for the Sportsland, Oregon. Los and Derek get togethIer after the game to break down the Ducks' first Rose Bowl victory in 95 years and the first Bowl victory of Chip Kelly's career.

They talk about all the big stars of the game, from De'Anthony Thomas and LaMichael James in the backfield to Kiko Alonso and Lavasier Tuinei as unexpected heroes. Then they discuss the rest of the major bowls and predict the National Championship, all before debating the merits of Andrew Luck as a Number 1 pick and a sure thing. 

In Part 2 of their marathon Rose Bowl podcast, Los and Derek make their NFL playoff predictions. With all of the potent offenses in this season's playoffs, it's tough to choose just two that will make the big game, let alone one that will win it.

Finally, Derek provides his send-off and valedictions to the Oregon Ducks' 2011 Football season.

Can anyone beat Miami this year? The Sportsland Crew makes its call.

Oregon makes a run for some money

It's the week after the Civil War and before the inaugural Pac-12 Conference Championship game, and the Ducks look to march into Bowl season as conference champions. After trouncing the Beavers for the 4th straight year in the 115th Civil War, Oregon looks ahead at UCLA and Los and the crew discuss their chances.

They then discuss what looks to be the inevitable BCS Championship game between Alabama and LSU before moving to the coaching carousel not only in the Pac-12 but around the country.

After the good college football talk, it's time to celebrate the (possible) end of the NBA lockout, and the Timbers' first re-signings of the offseason. All that, plus the usual segments.
