OES tames Sunset in title match

Aardvarks win 9-6 for school's third championship

Fourth-ranked Oregon Episcopal returned to the top of the state with a 9-6 victory over Sunset, June 3, at West Linn High School.

The victory was three days after the Aardvarks beat top-ranked West Linn 11-10 in overtime.

Sunset, ranked third, reached the final with a 10-9 victory over No. 2 Jesuit.

OES finished its season at 17-1 overall. The team also beat Clackamas and Central Catholic on the way to the title match.

The school's program also won titles in 2009 and 2004.

Sunset, which has yet to win a title, finished at 21-3.

Westview won the Cascade Cup title with a 13-8 decision over Hood River in the second-tier final.
