Basketball is big news in Eastern Oregon as the Mountaineers prepare to win both the men’s and women’s Cascade Collegiate Conference titles this week.
The men’s team plays in the final Monday at the College of Idaho in Caldwell.
The women’s team plays Lewis-Clark State Tuesday in La Grande. in the women’s title game.
Eastern’s men are 21-9 overall heading into the game with LCS, which got pushed back to Monday due to weather. EOU is on a six-game win streak that includes home wins over Oregon Tech on Tuesday and Southern Oregon on Friday.
The Mounties are 28-2 on the women’s side, and have won 18 straight games since losing to Lewis-Clark State 71-69 on the road on Dec. 30.
Eastern won the rematch at home, 85-79 in overtime.
