A 2-all tie with CD Marathon on Tuesday has fans of the Portland Timbers ready for the home debut of their team, April 13, regardless of whether fans will be in attendance at Providence Park.

As much as 25 percent of the team’s season ticket holders were supposed to be in attendance, but any fans in attendance is a widely debated question on social media now that Multnomah County has been moved back to High Risk on the state’s rankings for public gatherings due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The draw in CD Marathon, played in Honduras, leaves the Timbers just in need of a win or 1-all draw to advance from the Round of 16 to the second round in the Concacaf Champions League.

Of the five Major League Soccer teams in the tournament, all either tied or won their match Tuesday or Wednesday - with all being played on the road.
