Beavers are history-bound again

Beavers are headed back to Omaha

Oregon State showed off the beauty of the game of baseball Sunday night, and played its way into the College World Series for the first time since 2018.

Despite being significantly outhit, the Beavers put their hits together at the right moments - including a grand slam - and defeated Florida State 14-10 in front of a packed home crowd to win their super regional in the decisive third game.

Florida State had a 17-12 advantage in hits, but left 10 runners on base to just three for OSU.

The Beavers will be seeking their fourth title in 20 years having won their first in 2006, and then defending the title in 2007. Their last trip in 2018 produced the third title.

Coach Mitch Canham played for the 2006 and '07 teams, and was on the Beavers staff for the 2018 title. He took over for former coach Pat Casey in 2019.
