Owls dominate women's game, take men's in OT

Oregon Tech's visit to Ashland was a big success Wednesday night as both the women's and men's basketball teams beat host Southern Oregon before a packed house at Lithia Motors Pavilion.

The women never trailed and beat the 20th-ranked Raiders, 68-59, powered by a stellar, 22-point performance from sophomore Gabbie Gascon to stay unbeaten at 11-0.

Oregon Tech's 24th-ranked men got 27 points from junior Erik Fraser, and outscored the hosts 13-9 in overtime to win the highly fluid contest, 92-88. OIT trailed by 14, then led by 11 in the second half before the teams finished regulation time tied at 79.

The OIT women remained in first place in the Cascade Conference with SOU in second. The OIT men sit in a four-way tie for second along with SOU.
