The offensive might of the Portland Timbers showed itself again Sunday on a road trip into Los Angeles, turning into a 4-2 victory at Dignity Health Sports Park.
After leading just 1-0 at halftime, the visitors pounded home a pair of scores for a 3-0 lead on the LAFC home grounds after 63 minutes. The host club then rallied to within 3-2 in the following 10 minutes before Portland finished the scoring with a penalty-kick in the 76th minute that boosted them in second place in the Western Conference.
Portland improved to 5 wins, three draws and just two losses for 18 points, trailing only Vancouver the conference standings after 10 matches.
