
Timbers head for all-time XI
The 50th anniversary starting 11 will be honored during game with Minnesota Saturday

The Portland Timbers are headed toward their all-time XI celebration for the team's 50th anniversary on Saturday when they play host to Minnesota United at Providence Park.
The team has been releasing the name of one play per day for the past two weeks in regards to fan voting, and will honor the group during the event, which is set for kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
Portland sits in a tie for fourth place in the Western Conference with Seattle with 33 points after 21 matches (9 wins, 6 losses, 6 draws). Minnesota is second in the West with 40 points through 22 matches (11-4-7).
The league All-Star Game is scheduled for Wednesday when the MLS All-Stars meet Liga MX All-Stars at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.
